Funding request
The written case that accompanies a finance application: the deal, the borrower, the numbers and the ask, laid out the way an assessor reads.

The funding request, sometimes called a lender submission or credit submission, is the written document that frames an application: who is borrowing, what for, how much, on what structure, and why the numbers support it. The model proves servicing; the funding request makes the case.
Its quality decides how the file lands. Credit teams read hundreds of submissions, and one that anticipates their questions, states the risks honestly and answers them with evidence gets a very different reading from a pile of statements with a cover email.
Why a lender cares
A declined application is usually a case that failed, not a deal that failed, and the funding request is where the case lives. When a broker is lodging, the written case is the broker's, and we build the numbers underneath it.
